Registration to 7th FAM conference (20.- 22. May 2026)

The FAM Conferences focus on elucidating the specific contributions of distinct medial temporal lobe (MTL) regions to memory function. The MTL is critically involved in memory processing and its function is altered in aging and in patients with amnesia, resulting in profound memory impairments that significantly affect daily life.

World-leading experts in human and animal memory will present their most recent findings, offering new perspectives on major controversies in memory research. The conference aims to strengthen the integration of human and animal memory research by bringing together evidence from molecular, neuroanatomical, electrophysiological, and imaging studies, employing state-of-the-art methodologies. This unique platform enables scientists to directly compare and synthesize findings across species, focusing on the same MTL regions while addressing complementary thematic questions in memory research.

A distinctive feature of the meeting is a dedicated half-day of blitz talks on medial temporal lobe (MTL) function and memory, delivered by conference participants to stimulate brainstorming and encourage scientific interactions.  A special „Science and the March in Time“ event featuring Menno Witter will take place during the conference dinner.

Participation is limited to 100 attendees to foster in-depth discussion.
